Thanksgiving 2010

We started Thanksgiving day with a very cold 5k run in the Parkville Turkey Trot. Charlie wasn't the happiest camper that morning - but he got to head home to a warm house with Gram while the rest of us crazies took in the morning chill.

Charlie and Mark had a great time playing. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of them chasing each other through the house. They played keep-away with a football that involved lots of running and kept them happy for a long time. I think these two are going to be great friends.

We made an attempt to get a group picture of the 4 kids. These photos speak for themselves.





Another Thanksgiving, much to be thankful for. Happy, healthy, precocious kids being at the top of the list!

Just say Yes!

I had the best, unexpected and unplanned Sunday with Charlie. Izzy had a busy social calendar (first grade girls do not mess around), Ryan was busy and Charlie and I found ourselves alone. What to do? Sundays are our catch-up days at home and our parental to-do list is usually long. I don't enjoy it, but it is the one day we go to the grocery store, do laundry, vacuum, run errands - all the stuff that has to get done around the house when both parents work all week. Most Sundays we encourage the kids to play outside, have a neighbor friend come over and basically entertain themselves. On Sundays, I say 'No' a lot. No, I don't have time to play. No, I can't throw the football. No, I can't play dolls or dress up. No, no, no. There just isn't enough time in the day, in the week, to get it all done. Izzy's rainbow party - behind the scenes

It's hard to focus on much besides Izzy's beautiful rainbow birthday cake...     But there were other aspects of the party that I really enjoyed as well.   I loved the idea of using baby food jars to decorate for Izzy's first birthday when I saw this post . In the interest of time and my waning energy, I decided to simplify this idea.
