Week in pictures

It was perhaps our best weather and the biggest crowd yet for the Memorial Day Celebration at the Station event. We walked over from our loft this year, avoiding the hassles of parking and traffic - one bonus to not being in our new house yet. The fireworks and symphony were amazing, as always. It is one of my all time favorite KC events. Ryan and his Dad spent the long weekend painting at the new house. I helped a little by wiping down the walls - I have a new appreciation for all the angles and high ceilings. There is still much to do, but one way or another we will be in at the end of the month.

Modern on Meadow Remodel Tour - week 21(ish)

Image
Things are looking up on Meadow Lane! The front of the house is starting to resemble the finished design. The old front porch that ran along the entire front of the house is now gone, leaving lots of mud behind. A smaller porch stoop was poured a few weeks ago and the new steel columns are now in place. The columns will be painted black and will match the new steel deck columns on the back of the house.

Soccer finale

Just as quickly as it began, Charlie's first soccer season is over. Whew! For his last game of the season, his team played on the 'big field.' There was still some standing and watching, especially as he started to get tired. But a definite improvement in going to the ball and understanding the game between his first couple of games and th

I had another post planned for today, but after the Oklahoma tornado and thinking about all those children lost in their school, all the parents helpless to save them...I really couldn't think of anything else besides these two. These pictures are just simple moments from our past week -  simple and beautiful. Some days I feel like I don't have the strength to be a parent. Love and fear can be paralyzing. Prayers to all the families in Oklahoma.

Our move date is set!

Image
We have an official move in date....wait for it.....JUNE 29!! It feels so very real all of a sudden. On June 29 trucks will arrive, boxes and furniture will be transported, oodles of stuff will emerge from storage, and this family will have a new and wonderful home!! Can I get an hallelujah?!

Lately

Image
Lately I feel like time is just going by too fast. Charlie is 4, Izzy is 2 and they seem to get bigger, smarter, faster, and funnier every day. I worry that I am missing too many moments with them. It's going too fast. So here's a pile of pictures to remind me that I'm taking it all in - I'm doing my best to be in the moment with them. And there is nothing I can do to stop time.
