Charlie's class & the ready-mix truck

It was a big day at school today - Uncle Todd visited Charlie's class with a ready-mix truck! The class has been learning about trucks for several weeks and were well prepared for seeing the real thing.

Asking questions about the big wheels

Everyone got a chance to sit in the truck. Some of the kids were a little nervous, some were very eager.

Wheels bigger than the kids!

Uncle Todd showing the kids how you climb on the back bumper to see into the chute. From their books, the kids could identify the drum and the chute and were excited to point them out.

Charlie has done this a few times before...lucky kid!
They look so small!
It was really fun for me to be able to do this for Charlie. The trucks are so exciting for little kids and I feel lucky that my family can share this with them. It was also very meaningful for me that my brother was the one who brought the truck over. When I asked him about doing this, I assumed he would just send over a regular driver on a slower day. But he took the time out of his very busy schedule to do this, had the truck clean and all shined up and looking great for the visit. It meant a lot to me and I hope he knows that (I told him, I'll tell him again). Charlie is very lucky to have such a generous Uncle. I am very lucky to have such a great brother.
