On the job part 2

Image
While on a walk this morning, we saw a couple GRM trucks on the job. We stopped to take a look and found cousin Michael in charge. There were two trucks and a pump all squeezed into a small space between some old Brookside homes. Lots for Charlie to look at. He kept pointing at the truck like he wanted to get in it - only when Grandaddy is around Charlie! We hope we see some of these trucks at our house next week to finish up our driveway. Speaking of our project... The wall is really coming along nicely...

Charlie's World will turn upside down come March

Image
Up til now, this blog has been Charlie's and Charlie's alone. But soon, he will have to share his blog, along with about everything else in his life. Oh boy. As of March 24, baby #2 will join our home between the speed bumps. This is our first picture of him/her taken at 12 weeks old. We'll find out in just a few short weeks whether Charlie will have a little sister or little brother. While I'm sure having a sibling will throw Charlie for a loop at first, I know he will be a great big brother.

Spending some time in Leavenworth

Image
While Ryan and I were in the mountains, Charlie got to spend some time with Gram and Grandaddy in Leavenworth. Despite this picture of Charlie standing quietly, I'm pretty sure he never stopped moving during his visit and completely wore Gram out! There were tricycles to learn to ride (No doubt Charlie has his hand up to his ear asking Grandaddy for the phone he was using to take this picture). And big trucks to check out! Charlie looks so small... Strapped in and ready to drive the ready-mix truck. Charlie was turning the wheel like a pro. Grandaddy and Charlie drove around the yard, scooping things up as they went. I'm pretty sure Charlie was in heaven. There's bound to be some spoiling that goes on at the grandparents' house...I'm pretty sure Charlie made out just fine while we were gone!

The Supervisor

When we came outside this morning, there was a lot going on in our front yard. Charlie was very interested and wanted to check it out. Today we moved past the mounds of dirt in the yard to see some stones start shaping our new retaining wall. Its going to be a big project and Charlie will have to make sure they stay on task.

Catching up with Charlie

Image
September was crazy busy and this blog, among other things, was neglected. Time to catch up! Charlie is always on the move. He loves to practice walking up and down stairs and he likes to try to do it without holding on to anything. We found a good set of practice steps at the park, they were wide and short - perfect for little (strong!) legs. Charlie has discovered our neighbor's basketball goal and it is the first place he wants to go outside. Gotta give him credit for trying... We love to go to the Brookside farmer's market on Saturday mornings. They almost always have a musician/band/singer and Charlie thinks it is just like music class at his school. On this particular day, he had his own personal minstrel. This guy got down on one knee and played Charlie a string of nursery rhymes...it was great. Charlie tried tapping his foot like the musician...good times!

Not so tasty...

Charlie's class played with some foam soap at school yesterday. Charlie decided to see how it tastes... Hmmm, not so yummy... But it sure is fun!

Summer Days

A few pics from our most recent trip to the zoo this summer. So serious...he really did like riding the carousel! Charlie made friends with a baby goat.
